Celloensemble UNICELL plays „TEN“ - Alumni-Celebration HfM Mainz June 2018
In 2007 I was appointed Professor for Cello and Chamber Music at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz / Johannes Gutenberg Universität.
For me the teaching process as well as the exchange with my students is a precious gift: looking for the right questions, analysing problems and finding possible solutions together with my students has become a joyful and inspiring source of happiness and an essential part of my life.
In addition to the cello lessons I organize other artistic activities for my students, such as masterclasses with guest-professors at our Hochschule, chamber music or cello-ensemble projects, as well as projects in cooperation with other university faculty members.

Summersemester 2022
During this summersemester I am taking a sabbatical, concentrating on baroque cello.
My students will be looked after by my colleagues from Frankfurt Prof. Katharina Deserno and Michael Preuss.
On july 9 I will be giving a lecture - concert at our Rote Saal (7:30pm) comparing the interpretation of the Bach Suites on a modern versus a baroque cello.
